With my painting I try to recreate a similar emotional impact that I experience in the hope that the onlooker will feel something of the event that created the painting. I use each painting like a steppingstone to move from one painting to the next and create a series and as the series evolves it becomes more abstract, the flowers give up their botanical likeness to evoke their mood and spirit through colours that blend and clash.

My new work featuring fuchsia paintings, inspiration for these paintings come from the pots of fuchsias scattered around the garden. There is colour everywhere – bright colour, subtle colour – pinks, reds, yellows, oranges, purples, greens –.
There are contrasting colours and harmonizing colours side
by side. Flowers dangle in pairs, like mini ballerinas with
tutus of pale pinkish-white, and all shades of pink to red and
violet-purple.
